Our History

Citiq Property Managers is proud to build on the vision, commitment and success that has defined our past.

Citiq established in 2005 to acquire and refurbish residential property in and around Johannesburg.
First apartment block purchased – 8 semi-detached apartments in Troyeville.

Purchased first block of flats in Bellevue, Johannesburg, portfolio grows rapidly to in excess of 100 apartments.

Property portfolio achieves the R50m milestone.

First facility negotiated with Futuregrowth to finance the acquisition of residential apartments.
First development project undertaken – the conversion of an office building in Johannesburg into 36 refurbished apartments.
Property portfolio achieves the R500m milestone.

First townhouse complex acquired in Pretoria.

Prepaid metering business established called Citiq Prepaid.
Established internal property management function with a state of the art call centre to deal more effectively with collections, maintenance and rent enquiries.
Started the Ithuba Arts Fund to promote aspirant Johannesburg artists and held its inaugural exhibition.

First student residence acquired in Brixton.
Completed the conversion of a Johannesburg office building with a strong focus on energy efficient solutions – using motion sensor lighting
and heat pumps for energy conservation.
Started the Ekhaya Day Care Centre as a subsidised child care facility in the Johannesburg inner city.

Shipping Container Project – South Africa’s first residential apartment block built entirely from shipping containers was completed.
Launched the development of a new world class student residence in Pretoria designed to accommodate over 2 300 students.
Property portfolio grows to over R1bn.
Acquired and moved our head office to Braamfontein – the conversion and upgrading of this building forms part of a city project focused on
reviving the Braamfontein area.

Mill Junction was developed from disused grain silos and shipping containers into student accommodation – the residence accommodates
over 370 students in Newtown, Johannesburg.
